Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is a national mission aimed at providing universal access to banking facilities. The scheme enables citizens to open zero-balance savings accounts with basic banking services such as debit cards, insurance coverage, and access to credit.
Under PMJDY, account holders receive a RuPay debit card, accidental insurance cover, and eligibility for overdraft facilities. The scheme plays a key role in promoting financial inclusion and bringing unbanked citizens into the formal banking system.
